General Berthelot will be appointed as the leader of the French military mission to Romania. He will arrive in Romania on 15 October 1916, four days after General von Falkenhayn’s Army breaks through the Transylvania mountain passes. He acts as the official Entente Liaison, and will help reorganize the Romanian Army in the winter of 1917.
